Re Template:Spoiler – "...a more appropriate limited substitute now exists." - note this is no longer true as {{current fiction}}, referenced during the deletion, has also been deleted.

"the consensus below clearly endorses the result as the only one that could be reasonably made." - What consensus? The keep votes in the TfD page look like a minority, but it's far from consensus. This is implicitly acknowledged by the closer ("as evidenced by what happens in the encyclopaedia rather than any measurement of bytes of comment"). Note that what happened in the encyclopaedia was largely due to the template being removed from 10,000 to 20,000 articles by one user with AWB, so extra care should be taken before drawing conclusions. (I hasten to note that David Gerard appears to have done this in a cooperative and reasonable way, judging by his comments at the time.[1])

It may be wise to delete the template, but it looks to me like proper process was not followed. --Chriswaterguy talk 01:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
