[edit] {{tracker}}
Template:Tracker (edit talk links history) was deleted by Sean Black (talk · contribs) under the grounds of Eh? Useless crud. IMO, this is ironically uncivil. Also, at discussion is taking place at WT:CJ/M/1 as to what to do with this template. Most people are wanting to migrate this into a category (as it creates a strain on server resources). I'm asking for nothing more than it to go on TfD so I can make it redundant. By deleting it without doing this, he has created dead links on hundreds of pages. Computerjoe's talk 15:56, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Undelete This Template was not yet finished. So I propose we should wait and see the outcome of it when finished. Then if the outcome is unfavorable give a chance for us at CJ to fix the damage of all the dead links and userfy the template. Mahogany
- Keep deleted, totally inappropriate in the first place. Christopher Parham (talk) 16:40, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe so. I'm simply asking for undeletion over a short period when my bot changes it! Computerjoe's talk 17:04, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- What would your bot be changing it to? Christopher Parham (talk) 17:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Moving all pages transcluding it into a category. Computerjoe's talk 17:32, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- There shouldn't be a category either. Christopher Parham (talk) 17:42, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

- It is not appropriate to go about adding templates or categories to the pages of users you feel need to be "tracked." Christopher Parham (talk) 17:54, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- By placing a civility warning, you are expressing concern. Computerjoe's talk 17:57, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed you are, and as far as I can tell the ability to place civility warnings remains unaffected by the deletion of this template. Christopher Parham (talk) 18:08, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Many civility warnings now have a dead link to this template. Computerjoe's talk 18:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- So remove them or rewrite them. User:Zoe|(talk) 18:21, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Many of these are subst'd. Computerjoe's talk 18:29, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Undelete for a short while until Computerjoe handles it. — Ilyanep (Talk) 20:48, 8 May 2006 (UTC)- Undelete and relist at TfD. "Eh? Useless crud." is not a CSD. It's usefulness or its lack may be discussed on a properly conducted TfD debate. Misza13 T C 20:50, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Keep deleted, still useless and widly innapropriate.--Sean Black (talk) 21:43, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, my sentiment is keep deleted, incivility at its worse. User:Zoe|(talk) 21:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Keep deleted I really think this is speediable as a personal attack, insofar as it is essentially a tool for stalking. Valid speedy, albeit with an unfortunately imprecise rationale given by deleter. Xoloz 00:29, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- While I personally perfer that it not be used on user talk pages, I'd find it useful on article talk pages.
Anyhow, why can't you make a consession to allow it to be undeleted for a very short amount of time?— Ilyanep (Talk) 01:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)- Whatlinkshere {{calm talk}}? Kotepho 13:47, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

- Keep deleted per Chris Parham. —Encephalon 03:17, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Endorse deletion. noinclude content was "This tracks civility warnings. It is for the benefit of WP:CJ and similar groups." What purpose does this serve over and above the standard cvility warnings? Just zis Guy you know? 13:25, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Endorse I don't see what CSD this would fall under either, but I'm not exactly seeing a good reason to have it. Kotepho 13:47, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Endorse deletion The template is ironically uncivil and unproductive by itself. However, irony is not a reason to keep a template around, especially one which is T1. The idea that it would somehow help anyone to give out Scarlet letters to users that they feel have not been suficiently civil is absurd. JoshuaZ 21:00, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

- Endorse "It is important civility can be tracked" is sort of an odd deal...it's important that we be civil but tracking it? Rx StrangeLove 07:29, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
