Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Norvan vogt. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. • nancy • 21:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion

Hi, Delvian. you wrote: I don't really think that the reasons are all that valid however I am new to this and I didn't realise that Wikipedia was getting so dogmatic. I sympathise, having gone through the same process a couple of times recently. However, encyclopedic objectives are necessarily long-term and patience is a key virtue. I had to learn that some editors/administrators are over-zealous, but I suspect even more are not critical enough, or maybe gutless. In our situation (I being also a relative newcomer) my advice is to wait and watch rather than rush in without understanding the whole process. If you need the coverage before the election, forget it!-- No-one ever goes to an encyclopedia to learn that "X is a candidate in the next election [which will be a non-event by the end of 2007]". Anyway, why would a unknown AD candidate warrant more space than, say, Janine Haines? I've come to agree with my erstwhile critics that there has to be (a) genuine noteworthiness and (b) reasonable impartiality behind Wikipedia articles, otherwise the whole concept is debased. I'm also not in favour of writers' anonymity and concealment by pseudonyms. Honesty and openness make good partners. Incidentally, I was surprised today to find that the ANU-based online Australian Dictionary of Biography apparently does not regard either Don Chipp or Janine Haines as sufficiently noteworthy! So, wait around--and don't take it too much to heart. -- Cheers, Bjenks 09:30, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

You cannot just re-create deleted material that has been deleted by the community consensus, it is viewed as disruptive. Further disruptive editing can result in your being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Carlossuarez46 00:04, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
