Civil?
Wikipedia may have a policy of being civil, but I like to treat fire with fire. If someone has been downright uncivil to me, I'm certainly not going to respond with politeness! Funny how you moronic clique-forming, jobless Americans are quick to jump on people posting anonymously, but are happy to let others abuse Wikipedia just because they have a registed nick and too much time on their hands. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.24.158.222 (talk • contribs).

No, administrators' edits are checked by the spam filter as well. (I could modify the spam blacklist, but if a link is blacklisted I'm assuming there's a good reason). When you try to save the page the spam filter message should tell you what link is causing the problem; just remove that link and try again, and put "remove blacklisted URL" in your edit summary – Gurch 04:01, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank You, from Sean Wolfington
My name is Sean Wolfington and i am new to Wikipedia. I read your comments you wrote to the person who claimed i wrote a "vanity" article. This was not my intent. After i discovered that i had a page on the site i added truthful facts from my bio with out the intent of creating a "vanity" article. I did add content to other people's articles that linked to a film we made and if that is not allowed i am sorry. I just read the "spamming" info and now i realize that what i did was not right.
This excerpt from Wikipedia explains what happened to me: "Some people spam Wikipedia without meaning to. That is, they do things which Wikipedians consider to be spamming, without realizing that their actions are not in line with building an encyclopedia. A new editor who owns a business may see that there are articles about other businesses on Wikipedia, and conclude that it would be appropriate to create his own such article. A Web site operator may see many places in Wikipedia where his or her site would be relevant, and quickly add several dozen links to it."
If you can i would appreciate your advise on what to do to avoid creating problems in the future. Thanks again for your fair comments. Sean —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanwolfington (talk • contribs)

Hey, Well if you read the content of the article you will see that we have a group of churches..but we do not have an official headquarters so we cannot list our church like the "Restoration" Church of God does. If we numbered our membership as they do we would have as many members, but this is not our belief. The only thing I could do is take the Columbus off of the site...but then.......Actually the Restoration is the one that made the site for me. We are not in fellowship with them but HERBSTER got tired of me making changes to their site. I used to attend church with them....they are constantly changing things of their site. As to the jPEG file....I do not know what to do to make it legal. The pic belongs to us. Tom —Preceding unsigned comment added by Churchofgod (talk • contribs)

RE: Church of God Columbus GA
Hi, Can you help me understand just exactly why the deletion? Is it because we are not large? Is it because we believe that every congregation is a part of the body and not to be numbered. The only thing I could do is rename the page and leave out the personal items such as the Pastors name, and items related to the church. We have the same beliefs as Anderson COG is this area, except they differ on dress standards, worldly attitudes and such like. SO how can we be different? Just wondering. Hi. This is Sean Wolfington again. thank you for taking the time to explain that to me. It makes alot of sense. One other question? Are they going to delete my page? Is there anything else i should do to avoid the article being deleted? Thanks for your help. Have a great holiday. Sean.

Thanks alot for your advice. The article is not deleted and the notice that was there is no longer there. However, there is another notice that says that the article reads like an ad. I think that was there before also but it was not deleted. How do i get rid of this? Also, would you like me to email you articles that have been written about me so you can determine if they are noteworthy or is that not necesary any longer? You mentioned that i should add credible sources to the article so here are some links that may help with that. If you search my name in Yahoo you will find many articles. Here is the Yahoo link: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=sean+wolfington&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8 Here is a summary of some of them:
The most comprehensive article was written by THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, which is the most reputable publication in the film industry. It is an objective article that does a good job summarizing the film and that talks about how the film won the largest festival in the world: the Toronto International Film Festival. It may be the type of source you were suggesting. In the article the film is referenced. This may be an appropriate place to link to this article. Here is a link to the Hollywood Reporter article: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/columns/e3iE9BarJ%2Fq2k7KEi8RgdwxQA==
There are other articles in Yahoo. I have listed some of them below:
-Yahoo search result 4 is from Wire Image: http://www.wireimage.com/FeaturedEvents/GalleryListing.asp?navtyp=gls====212042&evntI=2072
-Yahoo search result 5 is from the Catholic Register magazine: http://ncregister.com/site/article/256/
-Yahoo search result 6 is from Catholic.net: http://www.catholic.net/us_catholic_news/print.phtml?article_id=4672 (this is the same article as the one published at the Catholic Register)
-Yahoo search result 7 is from The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/columns/e3iE9BarJ%2Fq2k7KEi8RgdwxQA== (this is the main publication in the film industry and this is a very thourough article on the film we made called "Bella"
-Yahoo search results 8 is from Celebrity Week: http://celebrityweek.com/news/show_news.asp?id=274
There are many others if you want to find more.
Thanks again for your help. Sean Wolfington
PS: On a related note, the film is beautiful and i hope you get a chance to see it. I would love to invite you to a private screening if you would like to go. We are hosting a number of private screenings around the country before the formal release. If you let me know where you live i can invite you to the screening closest to you.

Thanks Again - another question
Hi. Thank you for making the adjustments and improving the article. In the Awards section you included a reference to the U2 fund-raiser. Is this an award? Would it be possible to delete this? I do not want to politicize my bio because i am not on one side or another... i am more of a cause person than a political party person and i would not want to have this content in the "award" section label me along with that article. Would it be ok for me to delete that from my bio? I deleted it but i want to make sure that is ok and if it is not i can add it back. Please let me know. Thanks again for taking the time to help me with this... i really appreciate it. Seanwolfington 05:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Better Articles from more credible publications
Below are 5 or 6 articles written about the film from more credible sources than the Catholic Register article. Would it be helpful to add any of these as references? We are having a private screening in miami on feb 6th at a beautiful theatre there if you want to come.
WALL STREET JOURNAL: http://www.realestatejournal.com/columnists/private/20060619-private.html
A month after Cher's former Key Biscayne, Fla., home sold for $8.8 million, it's gone back on the market -- for $12.9 million. Philadelphia businessman Sean Wolfington and his wife, Ana, bought the waterfront property from the entertainer in May. Mr. Wolfington says he's relisting the six-bedroom property in an attempt to "test" the area's high-end real-estate market. "There's a shortage of available waterfront property here, so we wanted to see what we could get for it," says Mr. Wolfington, adding that he's updated the property's landscaping and added a system remotely controlling the home's lighting, security and entertainment equipment. Cher, who bought the 6,819-square-foot contemporary house in 2003, put it on the market last November for $9.75 million. The property, about 10 miles south of downtown Miami and overlooking Biscayne Bay, sits on Mashta Island, an enclave on Key Biscayne's western coast connected by a bridge to the village, where actor Andy Garcia also owns a house. All rooms inside the three-level home have bamboo floors and bay views, and the property has more than 100 feet of bay frontage. http://www.realestatejournal.com/columnists/private/20060619-private.html

RUETERS: TORONTO (Reuters) - "Bella," a romantic drama by Mexican director Alejandro Monteverde, was the surprise winner of the top award at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday….. The prize is often an indicator of future Academy Award nominations, with past recipients including best picture winners "American Beauty" and "Chariots of Fire." Last year's winner, "Tsotsi," won an Oscar for best foreign-language film. "I really hope that this is not a dream and that I don't wake up at film school," a visibly surprised Monteverde said at an awards ceremony. HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: “Bella” Wins TORONTO -- A trio of Mexicans triumphed at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday when their U.S. independent drama "Bella" captured the People's Choice Award, voted on by festival audiences…. "These Mexican guys go to America and beat the American independents at their game -- it's impressive," Toronto festival co-director Noah Cowan said after an awards luncheon. FOX NEWS: I am very pleased that the Toronto Film Festival chose "Bella" to win their top audience award over the weekend…. It's incredibly charming, with terrific performances by Tammy Blanchard and Mexican star Eduardo Verástegui and Manny Perez. It's directed by Alejandro Gomez Monteverde. It's too easy to say this is the "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" of this season, because "Bella" is far more complex and sophisticated while losing none of the humor. Whoever decides to release "Bella" will have a nice little hit on their hands. The freshness and lack of affectation in "Bella" must have appealed to audiences who had to endure a number of big-name films that seemed contrived, stale or calculated. InCONTENTION.com: "Bella" marks the debut feature of Alejandro Gomez Monteverde, a truly humble man in awe of the fact that he's actually made it here. It's better to know as little as possible about this film before going into it but let me tell you that it feels both sincere and loving. It's great to see a film that legitimately moves the viewer without being drowned in sap. And it does this in just 90 minutes. If it comes your way, see it. Hello. Many thanks for the welcome. Given that I'm very much a novice at Wiki, I would hope you might make the suggestion about changing the name of the category (I would also suggest a category Americans Accused of Murder to include those like Lizzie Borden and O.J.Simpson). If you don't mind? Zahir13 16:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- A word of explanation. I am a newcommer in terms of Wiki proper, but I am a regular contributor here: http://ib.frath.net/w/Main_Page Still, Wiki itself is much more structured and of course several times larger by orders of magnitude. Zahir13 16:45, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Don't know if you're interested at all, but I've started an article: Dracula (BBC). I should note that I'm something of an expert on vampires. Zahir13 17:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Many thanks for those tiny corrections! Even more thanks for telling me how to avoid that problem in the future. And yes, I've gone and announced the page to the Project that you mentioned. I'm hoping for a good response, especially after the film airs.
- I see the whole point about re-naming a large subset of categories for what is, after all, a minor improvement in accuracy. Zahir13 18:35, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

It isn't a major deletion, it's the creation of a disambig page. There is a section of the article on "other meanings" which is pointless since we have the disambiguation page format. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.146.198.203 (talk • contribs)
"See also" sections.
I know what a "See also" section is, but do not know whether there are policies about when to include one.
Specifically, I added a "See also" section to the three articles relating to the militia in the state of Oregon (as part of an ongoing review of state government-related articles), I think appropriately: Oregon Military Department, Oregon National Guard, and Oregon Air National Guard. The section was deleted by another editor on the latter article, even though the "See also" provided ready navigation to the Oregon National Guard, Oregon Military Department, and U.S. Air National Guard, all of which are parent organizations to the OANG. Before reverting, and perhaps sparking an edit and revert war, I wanted to know whether there was a policy on the subject. I can't find one, and I have searched the MoS diligently and at length.
I hope that makes my quandry clearer. -- "J-M" (Jgilhousen) 21:59, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
