[edit] Autobytel

You tagged an earlier version of Autobytel for speedy deletion. I wanted to let you know that I found some useful references about the company and added them to the article. I think the article now establishes notability. --Eastmain (talk) 00:22, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough. You do good work! Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:01, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Edits to Common Short Code

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me understand how my company can be listed as a provider of wireless infrastructure solutions, inlcuding a common short code gateway.

Thanks, Kimberly Kimberlyhaas (talk) 14:31, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Please read WP:COI and WP:CORP. They should explain why I reverted your additions. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:34, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] deletion of page Dara Guiney

Hello, I have edited and included links and source reference. This should meet criteria now. Please advise if this is not the case. Disclaim (talk) 18:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't feel that the reference establishes notability per WP:NOTABILITY guidelines. The speedy delete was (barely) declined, so I've sent it for discussion. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 19:36, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] wtf?!

ummm...I didn't vandalize a page..it was MY page that I created..and i edited it...that isnt vandalism .......can u not.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hiiippiiiee (talkcontribs) 20:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

You re-added the phone numbers that another editor had correctly removed. Moot point since the page is gone now, but no page on WP is "MY page". Delicious carbuncle (talk) 20:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
okay, clearly you're an idiot/ass hole the phone number (not numberS..) was part of the article, did you not read it? basically thats what the article is about. i realize its a moot point; my page meaning i made it, its not like i was going around posting random shit on pages that other people created, you said "please stop vandalizing pages" as if i was. it was relevant to the article, and it annoys me that it was deleted. lighten up a bit, huh?
p.s. note how like fifty other people have complained about this same sort of thing... i am simply not a fan of yours. who are you anyways..? Hiiippiiiee (talk) 03:20, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
I see someone's already warned you about civility so I won't bother. Lighten up a bit? You seem to be still angry about an article that got deleted yesterday. Take some time and learn how WP works, then your articles might not get deleted. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 12:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
no, i'm not angry i don't get angry. its just weird how seriously you are taking this. get a life. peace and love. bye. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hiiippiiiee (talkcontribs) 03:00, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Snow

Hi, recently you edited one of my edits and u said that it was incorrect. However, my teacher told me that when the temperature is at zero degrees, then snow begings to turn into a slushy substance. Therefore, that is why i added it. However, you said that it was inccorect so can you please tell me then what temperature makes snow turn into ice?

Thanks! and btw, I am kinda new so i didn't know you had to put references for every single edit.--Wanning Scores (talk) 23:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair question. The whole section including your edit reads "Slush: Snow which partially melts upon reaching the ground, to the point that it accumulates in puddles of partially-frozen water. This event generally occurs at 0°C or 32°F." It is incorrect in the sense that the temperature (and hence the event) will not generally occur at that specific temperature, but will occur at any temperature above that melting point. This will usually be at temperatures above 0°C, but solar radiation can cause snow to melt even if the ambient air temperature is below 0°C. Your teacher is not wrong, your statement was just too specific. Thanks for asking. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 23:52, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chicken Quiet

Sorry, but I cannot access the deleted page so I don't know what it was like. I'll try my best to monitor him, and his contributions from now on. Fattyjwoods (Push my button) 03:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

It was a recreation of a page deleted at AfD, and then a re-recreation after being warned, so the content isn't really the issue. I see you're taking a "wikibreak", so perhaps you should let someone else adopt this user, as you don't seem to have the time. Judging by edits like this one, Chicken Quiet (talk · contribs) would probably benefit from some guidance. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 12:12, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, then, you go ahead and adopt him. Fattyjwoods (Push my button) 05:44, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
If I had the time and patience to "adopt" someone, I would have joined the adoption project, as you did. Other people offered to help the user at the same time that you did, perhaps one of them would adopt. I'm sorry if I offended you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Um... Excuse me?

Did you even the "please don't tag this article" hidden message? I just started it like 10 minutes ago, and I have the intention of expanding it. If it's the "non-tagged" aspect of it, I'm sorry but I don't know how to sort. Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 21:54:55

Can you give me some context? Delicious carbuncle (talk) 21:57, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
This was the hidden message <!-- THIS ARTICLE IS ABOUT A REAL GAME WHICH HAS NOT YET BEEN RELEASED. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE ON THE Non-notable premise WITHOUT CONSULTATION. --> and um the website is http://ascendedgames.com/index.shtml and it's a legitimate company. I think it's notable because it's a video game that's going to be released (meaning it hasn't been yet, and how well known can it get until after it's been released?). Did you want me to tag the article with that relevance scale thingy? Is that it? Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 22:13:27
Ok, you're talking about Dragon Treasures (it would have been helpful if you'd said that somewhere). This will come as a surprise to you, but I didn't even see your hidden message because it was, well, hidden. Please read WP:NOTABILITY. An unreleased video has very little chance of being notable unless it's something like Halo3 or GTA4 which are preceded by months of hype and speculation. Sorry. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 22:19, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, so I've got to let it get deleted so I can write it again in a year? Wow there's so much beuocracy here it's disturbing. Um, it's got http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QobUAY4Y9WM and http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=96f4Zc6iT_k if that helps any. It might not have been so annoying if you'd waited more than seven minutes before A7'ing it though though Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 22:25:57
And just in case it wasn't a typo, it's a video game not a video. Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 22:28:02
Sorry, that's how it works. Please don't come here being belligerent because the (as yet nonexistent) game you chose to create an article about isn't notable. That's not my fault. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 22:30, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Um... Yeah it's existent, it's being scripted. So any particular reason that it has to be deleted? Can't we just tag it as non-notable? If it's so non notable, then why would anyone create an article on it? Why have I heard about it when I live in Britian and don't have a clue in bloody h*** more about the inventor than what was provided online? Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 22:36:08

Please stop leaving me messages about this. Read the guideline I provided you earlier. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 22:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Fine, you "win" if that's what you wanted. Yamakiri TC § 05-8-2008 • 22:39:15

Thank you--Star-in-law (talk) 18:17, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Why Delicious carbuncle?

Why did you delete my edits on Selena Gomez's page??? I look them up on the computer and they were all true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Addisonn. (talkcontribs) 20:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The COOKIE MONSTeR ate the cow

. Hi just to make sure you’re not too hungry, I would’ve given you milk – but the cow just died and I tried to milk the bull but it kicked me in the face. *sob*. Anyway, enjoy the cookie!! Fattyjwoods (Push my button) 01:33, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the cookie!! It's welcome even without the milk! Hope your exams go/are going/went well. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 03:21, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trashforming

yeah you purposed deletion of Trashforming, is it because i don't have sources? because it is not somthing made up, in Dayton Ohio it is becoming more and more popular. 01:54, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

While I admit that Dayton is pretty much the center of the musical world, you need to add some sources to substantiate the article. Google has about 20 hits for this term and none of them are music related. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 03:25, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] inercance

hi delicious carbuncle with the help of my new freinds realist2 and RGOODERMOTE my innosense has been found and I will learnt o make more contributions for michael please understand I do not want to upset anyone i just want the truth to come out I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED MICHAEL since I was very young

perhaps we can now work togeher to make wikipedia a better place! SDLexington (talk) 12:13, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm really very sorry about the misunderstanding. I realise that you are not the troll I thought you were. I encourage you to resume editing Michael Jackson now. I'm sure your new friends will appreciate your help. Best regards. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 12:50, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ASUIsTalking

Good afternoon Delicious Carbuncle. I have made a few changes to the ASUIsTalking article. I was curious to see why you had marked it for speedy deletion. All of the information that has been placed on the page was taken from newspaper articles and mentions from radio programs. The publications that were cited were all accredited.

Thanks.

ReggieGorilla (talk) 21:33, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

It was written like ad copy (less so now that you've trimmed it) and the only reference that is linked is self-published. The speedy appears to have been declined, so it's a moot point. Judging solely from your contributions, I would suspect that you're associated with the parent PR firm. If so, you should probably read WP:COI and WP:SPAM. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 01:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Thomas Calcagni

May I ask why after others added valid references to this listing you decided to delete it anyway? I did not realize I was supposed to communicate with you directly on this subject. I did not add any information to the article as you seemed to reject additions from me. Is reconsideration possible as a lot of the deletes were listed before others added references? Thank you --Tcalcagni (talk) 15:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I didn't delete your article. It was deleted by an admin, User:Keeper76, after a deletion review in which you participated. The consensus of the editors involved in the review was delete, based on notability concerns. Again, I would suggest reading WP:AUTOBIO and that you wait until someone else writes an article about you (of their own volition), but if you chose to ignore my advice, you may contact the closing admin about recreating the article or taking it to WP:DELREV. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Illinois Association of REALTORS

I have to read more about creating a page before adding information about the association. Any advice you can offer is helpful. Illinoisrealtor (talk) 19:37, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

You could start with WP:COI and WP:CORP. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 19:47, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bathroom Edit

You removed an external link I added to bathrooms with the message that I am not allowed to add promotional material to it. The website is a commercial site but it is also a news/article site and the link was to an informative article with tips on bathroom design. The website does NOT sell bathrooms. Please explain how that link is deemed promotional yet the zillions of links to commercial websites homepages currently present on wiki pages are not. Bias maybe? 78.32.96.166 (talk) 10:28, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

The link and site were promoting a product for designing bathrooms, as I recall, and the product was prominently mentioned on the linked page. That is against the WP:EL guideline. Please stop using WP for promotional purposes. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:15, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
The link clearly said it was for bathroom design tips and that is exactly where the link led to. The product is as prominent as it would be on any commercial website that displays an informative article. Since Wikipedia links out to many of them I'm not sure why this one is a problem for you. I can't change the navigation and header image just for you carbuncle but if the whole issue of 'promotion' is caused by there being a small image and link in the middle of the article I can have that removed.(78.32.96.166 (talk) 15:47, 21 May 2008 (UTC))
Don't go changing, trying to please me. I'm just one out of many editors following the WP:EL guideline, which is what you should be looking at (and perhaps WP:SPAM). The point is that your page isn't so much about helping the reader do anything as it is about promoting a product, which is why the guidelines exist. Sorry. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:12, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
"Don't go changing, trying to please me." - Since it was you who removed the link because you deemed it as being purely for promotion after following your own interpretation of the guidelines I don't think it is unreasonable for me to examine why. Being condescending and superior when you are in a self promoted position is exactly why there is such a mixed opinion on whether wiki editors are in fact no different to those dmoz editors with their own agendas. The point is that wikipedia is increasingly appearing high in SERPs when it is not what the user is searching for and neither is it necessary factual. So please don't claim that my page gives less to the searcher because it actually comes down to what the searcher or reader is looking for and only they can answer that. And I'd love to know why the current external link is deemed not promotional! 78.32.96.166 (talk) 13:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
No one is stopping people visiting your page, or finding it in search engines, only telling you that it's not appropriate for WP. Ignoring all of your other comments, you seem to think that WP is a search engine. It isn't. (Thanks for pointing out that link - it's gone now!) Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:46, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply: ray tracing

The reason why ray tracing (graphics) was accessed more than the physics counterpart is because when one types "ray tracing" in the search bar, they are directed to the graphics page. One looking for the physics page would have to go to ray tracing first, then find the otheruses link to go to the physics article. I have disambiguated the ray tracing article to link both articles by default. I will watch the stats and if there is still minimal traffic to the physics article, I will revert back. Thank you for consulting me before reverting. It is appreciated. -- penubag  (talk) 02:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

No offense, but your reasoning is very flawed. Even assuming readers of the physics article first went to the graphics article, the graphics article gets more than 20 (twenty!) times the number of views, so discounting the readers interested in the physics article doesn't substantially change anything. You can see the historical stats at the links I provided, so there's no need to wait for more data. The disambiguation page is not necessary, especially now the search box has type-ahead enabled. I'm hoping you will revert this yourself. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 03:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
To tell you the truth, as much of an avid Wikipedia user I am, I went to Ray tracing for the physics article but came across the graphics one. And even though I am usually pretty good at looking for the otheruses, I simply did not see the link and almost resorted to using an alternative resource to find a physics ray tracing version. The average person, I'm very certain, would not have found the link to the physics article either with all the cluttering amboxes; which explains the huge stats gap. A disambiguation page is a great way to direct people to the article which best suits them. I suggest we keep the disamb page for 1 day and then compare the stats. If the graphics page gets more hits, I'll gladly revert. Thanks :) -- penubag  (talk) 03:24, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
That sounds like a good way to proceed. Perhaps I vastly underestimate the latent demand for the physics article. Thanks for thinking of a compromise. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 03:31, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
No problem, thank you for not mindlessly reverting as many have done in the past. :) Just a note, although I will not hold this fact against anything here, highschool and college classes just finished their exit/final exams, so fewer students will be looking up the physics article. -- penubag  (talk) 03:46, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dj damyard

I think we both got to this article at the same time. If it gets speedied, I'll go ahead and close the AfD. Cheers! TNX-Man 15:10, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ideas for the michael jackson page

hi i thought i could outline the main changes we have to make to micheals page

remove word child sexual abuse and replace wiht sharing a bed with a child to watch a film remove plastic surgery and replace with diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus, the latter of which is potentially lethal but is in remission in Jackson's case add "and he loves children and would never hurt one" "he is loved by millions of people the world over"

change "Jordan Chandler, the son of former Beverly Hills dentist Evan Chandler, represented by civil lawyer Larry Feldman, accused Jackson of child sexual abuse." into "made an allegation that michael hurt him but actually michael was lookin after jordy and he was a sick child that michael took pity on and who turned on michael like a snake as soon as michaelhad done him so much good."

change long term financial difficulty and heath concerns to say "he is a kind man"

this is the best i have to start but we can wrok on this and make better and more soon

thank youSDLexington (talk) 13:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I didn't read what you wrote, but I'm sure those are all great changes and you should go ahead and make them. Once again, I'm sorry that I thought you were a disruptive troll who does nothing but leave poorly executed pseudo-childlike ramblings on talk pages. That person is now blocked. Please, be bold and start helping your new friends by making those edits on Michael Jackson. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:17, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notable aspect of Original Software page

I beleive I have indicated why this page is significant. Can you tell me why it is not? Original Software is the creator of several unique contributions to the software testing industry, that is why I created the page connected to the Software Testing portal. Is there something else I should change? thanks,

Teune (talk) 16:25, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Please refer to WP:CORP. If your company is significant, you should have no problem finding external references in reliable sources. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:28, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, thanks, so I should add these links to the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teune (talkcontribs) 16:29, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely, if you don't want an admin to delete it again. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:32, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I added about 5 or 6 links from external sources, is that sufficient, or should I add more? Teune (talk) 16:42, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

That will probably save it from immediate deletion, but the links aren't references (see WP:REF) and the article still reads like an advert. I just Googled your name and I see you work at Original Software - please read WP:COI and WP:SPAM. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 17:08, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I removed all 'marketing' type language and referenced everything I could from external sites such as IBM.com and Oracle.com and others. Can we remove the immediate deletion section? Thanks, I understand this process much better now and what should and shold not be done.Teune (talk) 18:50, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
An admin will eventually look at it and decide if it is still a candidate for speedy deletion. They will either delete it again, or remove the tag. Please leave the COI tag in place, regardless. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 18:52, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok, will do, thanks. Teune (talk) 19:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

What "dispute" are you trying to resolve? I don't feel like we have one. We seem to be having difficulty communicating with one another. [edit] Blissworld, LLC.

Hi Delicious Carbuncle - I noticed that you've marked my page for speedy deletion and would appreciate if you could offer a bit more assistance. I did a lot of research before posting the article (my first on Wikipedia) and felt as though it was written in a neutral voice and adhered to the guidelines of Wikipedia content, references, etc. I'm a longtime fan of the company and wanted to share what information I could find and put together. Thanks for your help! Anythingless (talk) 17:50, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

To me, it reads as though it has been written by the company's PR team, but it's a moot point because the speedy deletion was declined (although not on the basis that it was nominated). You should read WP:EL, since I notice that some of your links are directly to products (eg on Amazon.com). Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 17:57, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your recommendation - i'll definitely read through the information and re-do the links. Enjoy your weekend --Anythingless (talk) 18:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I look forward to your future articles. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 18:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reverted my edits under Amortization calculator?

Hi Delicious Carbuncle, I added an external link to Amortization calculator but same was deleted by IP: 75.55.222.8 without any reason. I undid the changes done by 75.55.222.8 and restored to my changes. but now I see you have deleted the changes again displaying the message that changes does not comply with guideline. Can you please let me know exactly what was wrong there and also pl investigate why the IP user: 75.55.222.8 deleted my changes.

There are already two mortgage calculators linked from the page (and I'm about to remove one of those), so the link is unnecessary. In addition, sites linked from WP need to conform with WP:EL guidelines. Links to Googlepages generally get deleted fairly quickly even if they don't explicitly violate any guidelines. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:46, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Remark: I have marked User:123.236.184.188 as an IP-sock of Rsgupta.in, see Category:Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Rsgupta.in. I am blacklisting these links. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:28, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: James Randi

Please do not slander people in your edit summaries! See WP:BLP.--Aunt Entropy (talk) 15:01, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Um. I assume you mean this edit where I removed the comment "Randi was born a DICK. Randi will never overcome being a DICK. The end." with the edit summary "Randi may be a dick, but this talk page is about the article". That isn't slanderous, even if I were calling someone a "dick", which I'm not. How did you happen to come across it? Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:12, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, maybe an overreaction, but it's been crazy around here lately. (I guess because school's out.) And I don't know if you follow the news, but we've been having issues with the BLPs. JR is one of my watched pages, that's how I saw it.--Aunt Entropy (talk) 15:23, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Didn't you used to be?

Your userpage mentioned all these websites about you. I remember a name like "Mr Carbuncle" from somewhere. I can't find a name like that on wikipedia. I googled and can't find the name so I mighta misspelled it. But did you used to go by anything that? William Ortiz (talk) 15:24, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I made a typo in an automated spell check and you've been wikistalking me ever since. Also I see you made User:Mr Carbuncle. I found the name I was looking for User:Mr. Carbunkle -- that you? William Ortiz (talk) 15:42, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I am not wikistalking you, and I am not User:Mr. Carbunkle. Please be mindful of WP:CIVIL. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:54, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Puppetry

Ha! Thanks for the clean-up of my page. Does seem to add to the veracity of the sockpuppet case but I think it's pretty obvious anyway. I find it a bit amusing that the user chose to copy my ugly user page for his sockpuppets. Cheers! DoubleBlue (Talk) 20:24, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Serial Twinkle abuser

Didn't want to say this in a place as public as WP:ANI.. but yeah, I also noticed the user did not respond specifically to my questions, but frankly, at the time I wrote that off as simple stupidity. :D I mean, really, the Twinkle tools are really not that hard to use. Someone who is having that much trouble with them must either be a troll or a pretty dim bulb (or extremely young and only a slightly dim bulb), and I wouldn't expect someone who had so much trouble with the tools in the first place to be able to articulate why they were confused.

It's very fishy that the next abuse occurred not ten minutes after I marked the thread as Resolved. Anyway, at this point, good faith doesn't matter -- if the user continues abusing the tools, they need to get blocked as a purely preventative measure, whether they are doing it on purpose or not. --Jaysweet (talk) 14:02, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't assume stupidity - according to their user page, they are an Oxonian and a lawyer! On a serious note, this isn't the first (or last) case of Twinkle abuse and there should be a mechanism for revoking access (without blocking) even if the user has just ticked a box in preferences. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:08, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree, though I have no idea how it would be implemented from a technical perspective. Also, the "undo" feature that has been rolled out to all users, it would be nice if there was an easy way to disable that. Too much abuse of that...
Since Twinkle is just a script, I am not sure if it's even possible to disable it...? --Jaysweet (talk) 14:11, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Without having looked at it, I'm not going to assume it would be easy, but perhaps it's worth asking someone to take a look. Your point about it being just a script is very valid, but since most vandals simply rely on the tools readily available, a mechanism to disable the default version could be helpful. Blocking could handle the rest, once detected. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:31, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I am a very advanced user and I am a Lawyer and also a programmer who programmes in machine code. I allso graduated from Oxford university with a first class degree and also scored 100% on my law tests. So yes I do know what I am doing. I can programme anything that is needed which is why I have mediawiki installed on my laptop. In reply to your script disabling yes you can do it. You have to be an admin and you have to go into the monobook.js and remove the content you then have to protect that page for a month or so to prevent the user from using the twinkle or anyother form of scripts. ILoveFran (talk) 14:35, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure that what you say about monobook.js and Twinkle is true, even though it seems to be generally accepted as true. I am not an admin and have no way of testing it. Perhaps you can test it on your installation? That would be very helpful. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes you can go into your monobook.js and remove the code and then it disables the twinkle it stops the twinkle software from running. But like I said you need to be an admin in order to remove the access as it is a protected page and only admins and higher can access the protected page to blank it. Hope that this helps you out. ILoveFran (talk) 14:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
That doesn't help at all, because you don't seem to actually understand what you're talking about. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I think ILF is correct that if you fully-protected the users monobook.js page after removing the include for Twinkle, that it would disable the scripts. Of course, this would prevent the user from using any scripts. But I suppose it would work.
I'm just not sure what to do about ILF. Most of his/her edits are legit (vandal fighting, legitimate CSD tagging, etc.) but the error rate is really high, and the fact that he/she started using Twinkle so soon (and has applied for access to other tools as well) is a little worrisome. It's generally better to learn how to use a hammer or a screwdriver before you go whipping out the tablesaw, you know what I mean? --Jaysweet (talk) 15:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Twinkle aside, I think the issue is that the user is being disruptive, whether through ignorance or malice. Their refusal to address your very nicely worded questions seems suggest the latter. Their assertions of various credentials stretch credulity. Things like tagging a disambig page for having few internal links seem like deliberate disruption to me. I have no doubt that you will continue to assume good faith, but I'm going to stop responding to this user's attention-seeking behaviour and wait for the inevitable. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I am extreamly busy with work at the moment. I am creating a case against a local council and currently dont have the time to talk on here at the moment. I will respond when I can ASAP. ILoveFran (talk) 15:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Great. Please don't respond here. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:24, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] It's cool

It's okay. I wouldn't have been so pissed if I hadn't simultaneously gotten asked if I'd done the legwork first, heh... Perhaps I will make it more clear in the future that I am not an admin. FWIW, I don't think what you reported alone would have been sufficient to get an admin to block the user. I mean, hell, look at the troubles we are having even now! ha ha ha.... Anyway, it's cool.

My apologies. I assumed it was cut and pasted from a website. If it's your own work, feel free to re-add it, but you will need to include your references. See WP:REFS. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 13:36, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Film

I know it's not technically eligible for speedy deletion, but I tagged it because it would be deleted at AFD with a near-unanimous consensus, thus cutting the stagnation. Sceptre (talk) 15:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Just wanted to know that I wasn't misinterpreting the guideline. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:13, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User warnings

Oops...forgot about that one. Thanks! Cquan (after the beep...) 19:04, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Bot Structures

I see that I was mistaken now. I was thinking of the bot messages (i.e. to automatically archive pages, watch, etc.). Sorry! Dusticomplain/compliment 02:18, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:

Hey, no problems here! If you look at the history, I had speedied it as well. (as you can see, it looked like gibberish) Then the guy who made the page contacted me and it turned out he was merely attempting to copy text from the Portuguese Wikipedia and their template names are (obviously) different then ours. So yeah, just to explain what was going on... Thingg 15:16, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bad Categories

Hi I have now fixed those categories and have looked into all of my contributions and they all look ok to me. Feel free to tell me if I have missed any but im pretty sure that I havent. Chemistrygeek (talk) 10:46, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that one out. I think it might be best if I stay away from that for a little while then. Chemistrygeek (talk) 13:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

I seldom check my user page so that vnadalism slipped through. at least it was only there a couple weeks. Thanks for letting me know. Edward321 (talk) 14:34, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Dizzy paul

I was not sure if it would be deleted, so I checked Wikipedia:Deletion policy, but I didnt find this rule Zugspitze (talk) 07:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 10:14, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] From the pavilion

Why did u mark this page for speedy deletion? I have third party referances to it and it isnt advertising.... i cant see wats wroing with it at all....

Sully89 (talk) 14:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Please read the many notices on your talk page about WP:NOTABILITY. That's why I nominated it for deletion. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:20, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I have 2 independant sources for From the pavilion, according to "nawlinwiki", WP:V and WP:RS thats what i need.

http://www.websiteoutlook.com/www.fromthepavilion.org http://www.smgnews.com/index.php/games

Also, there is no conflict of interest as i dont stand to make any money from the site, so im not sure wat the go is there.... Sully89 (talk) 16:40, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

It's being discussed here. You're welcome to participate, let's not debate it on my talk page. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 16:48, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the backup

on GenFranco. I hate it when a page seems like it should be up for speedy deletion, but there's no criterion for it! - Vianello (talk) 02:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I think you covered all possible bases for deletion in your summary. ;) Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Places

There is a guideline, but I can't find the proper link. It's been a concensus throughout the 4 years I've been contributing to Wikipedia. 23skidoo (talk) 16:51, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mladost Rogatica

Hello, I'm declining the speedy for now as this looks like Romanian. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 21:11, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Fair enough. It was short enough that I couldn't tell one way or the other. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 21:16, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] War, Inc. Other Movie Dates

Hello. The other day I got a newsletter from Hilary Duff's Official website and it said that War, Inc. will be opening in more theaters! So I don't know why you got rid of it when it was true! Enanoj1111 (talk) 01:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Your additions were completely unsourced, which is why I removed them. Please read WP:VERIFY and WP:RS. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:13, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re-Chidi Anthony Opara

The aforementioned page has just been edited by me, also see the discussion page of the article's entry on Articles for Deletion page, where i tried to show why it should not be listed for deletion. Warm Regards.Ijele (talk) 14:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I undid your blanking of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chidi Anthony Opara. Please discuss the article there, not on my talk page (or the AfD talk page). You should probably read Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#AfD_Wikietiquette to better understand the process. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 14:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Emptoris - Addition - Deletion

Please do not automatically delete the Emptoris wiki page. This is an independent entry, and a relevant page linked to from other supply management pages. I, of course, welcome any feedback to the article, but not an auto or universal deletion of the page. Thanks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emptoris —Preceding unsigned comment added by SupplyManager (talkcontribs) 21:07, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Please note that the article was deleted by an admin, not by me. I only nominated it (as blatant advertising). You appear to be creating copypasted articles like Supplier risk to link to your main article. Please don't. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 21:13, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
