[edit] Maybe add
One study found that the adjusted relative risk of psychiatric illnesses was 2.8 among people with mTBI within a half a year of injury compared to non-head injured people.[1]
"concussions" per se may have hemorrhages, contusions[2] People with moderate brain injuries may also have concussion.[3]
"labyrinthine concussion"[2]
Not all concussions fall under the classification of MTBI because some are too mild to meet those criteria?????????[3] verify
- [ref name="Petchprapai07"] Info on dsm criteria for mtbi, definition of mtbi including pta and loc. only small percentage of concussions caught by mtbi criteria (or vv)
- finish Shaw review PMID 12207973 add controversy re structural damage: animal studies have found structural damage, but it is not clear whether this is an inherent part of concussion, a separate phenomenon, or a product of the experiments themselves.
