Template:Delcomment

Caution Use of this template is under discussion at Wikipedia talk:Reference desk/guidelines. Do not use this template without reading the discussion there.

This template is designed to be used when deleting offensive or otherwise inappropriate comments from one of the "forum" style project pages, like any of the Wikipedia:Reference desk pages. To use, find the edit that created the comment from the page history, get the url of the diff that added the comment, and replace the comment with

{{subst:delcomment|reason|url=url of diff}}

The comment will be replaced with a string like

reason comment deleted. -- Your login, date

Reason should be something like Offensive, Rude, Threatening, etc.
