Talk:DeliPlayer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's NOT freeware - it's crippleware.

It doesn't construct a "music library" as distinct from a "playlist". This means your music library is a giant, hierarchical playlist, that mirrors the structure of the music on your hard disk. Good enough - it's an obscure programming decision. Except...

You can't SAVE this list, at least not in the free version. You can only save a list from which all the hierarchical information has been deleted, not dissimilar to dir /b /s *.* > playlist.m3u. So you have to either use the raw "list of all music files" as your music library, or rescan your entire library EACH TIME YOU RUN DELIPLAYER.

It does play a lot of obscure tracker formats, though, and as they are unlikely to change at this point, it is still good for that purpose.Bren Flibig (talk) 06:51, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
