Talk:Delaware State University shooting

[edit] Merge?
As painful as this is, bringing back memories of the Tech shooting, does this article need to exist? Most colleges have a student or two die every year. In any small community, it's a fact of life that some are going to die from time to time and there will be murders from time to time. The Tech shooting was the largest school shooting in US history and it's significant for that reason ... but this one was only 2 people ... and double murders happen all the time. Again ... I don't want to make light of this because I know what the students and alumni of that school are going to be going through, but I'm not sure this needs to be a separate article. --B 02:33, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

- It's notable imho in that it's the first college shooting in which the emergency procedures developed after the Virginia Tech shooting were put into place. ⇒ SWATJester Denny Crane. 06:50, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Response from an on-looker: Yes, a student or two dies every year at most colleges, but not normally from an on-campus shooting. People are more wary of these stories because we like to think of all schools as a safe place, just like it used to be in the past.
[edit] Death
The sidebar lists a death, but it is not mentioned in the article or the sources. Both victims were still alive three days after the shooting. If one later died of their injuries, we need a source. Ace of Sevens 05:34, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
