[edit] History
DELUXE Television is a Munich based broadcaster specialising in high quality music content for adults. DELUXE operates one Free-TV channel as well as 7 Pay-TV channels, including one of the world’s first HD music channels. The existing channels cover basically every relevant music genre (Pop Music, Rock, Soul, Groove/Dance, Classic, Jazz, Country, Lounge). Against the traditional TV approach, the sales strategy also builds on new forms of revenue sources, which in return are based to a large extent on new distribution channels in the context of TV digitalisation. Beyond IPTV and direct order, DELUXE runs a proprietary music download platform under www.deluxemusic.tv. Furthermore DELUXE produces content and music compilations. The DELUXE founder and media veteran Markus Langemann and his co-founder Cosmin Ene have started DELUXE MUSIC and operate a platform of 8 TV and radio channels.
DELUXE MUSIC can be seen in more than 25 million households throughout Europe, of which 12 million households are located in Germany. The channel is distributed via Astra Satellite, Cable and IPTV.
In the pay-TV sector the DELUXE GROUP is operating the channels DELUE ROCK, DELUXE SOUL, DELUXE GROOVE. The Group is preparing the launch of three other music styles and the start of a full HD channel called DELUXE LOUNGE HD.
The DELUXE GROUP furthermore operates two radio stations, DELUXE RADIO and DELUXE LOUNGE RADIO, both broadcast Europe wide via satellite, worldwide over the Internet and via cable within large parts of Germany.
