Delta Phi Mu (ΔΦΜ) is a Latina-based, multiculturally expanded sorority founded on August 28, 1991, at Purdue University.

Delta Phi Mu Sorority, Inc. was founded on August 28, 1991 at the West Lafayette campus of Purdue University. The five founding ladies, Rosita Serrano, Annette Zoe Rosa, Rosa Ana Fernandez, Guadalupe Acevez, and Sylvia Medellin, dreamt of a sisterhood that would stand for commitment to scholarship, service to the community, and ultimately, true family values. Driven by the lack of support for the Hispanic community at the university, these Distinguished Ladies came together and formed a sorority that was unprecedented at Purdue University. Standing for support, guidance, assistance, L.O.VE., friendship, sisterhood, and intercultural exchange, Delta Phi Mu became the first sorority on Purdue's campus to not be originally affiliated with the Panhellenic Council or be of historical African-American membership. Delta Phi Mu began a new movement of culturally based sororities and fraternities on the West Lafayette campus.
By living the example set by the five founders, The Ladies of Delta Phi Mu continue to be role models for ALL women, not only Hispanic women. Being philanthropy based, they continue to lend a helping hand to those in need and hope to continue on in making a difference in all corners of the world. Delta Phi Mu was founded upon many goals and aspirations, but they can all be summarized in their motto: "La Esperanza Del Futuro Esta En Las Manos De La Mujer!"
Delta Phi Mu consists of undergraduate chapters, alumnae chapters, and royals. Royals are defined as colonies on campuses, that have not yet obtained chapter status. To learn more about membership opportunities, visit www.deltaphimu.org[1].
