[edit] Overview
This line links the Lucien-L'Allier station in downtown Montreal with Candiac, on Montreal's South Shore.
The line offers four departures every weekday morning towards Montreal and four return trips to Candiac every weekday evening. The name of the line has been changed to Delson-Candiac or simply Delson even though all trains now start or end in Candiac. [2]
Over 2,500 people ride this train daily.
[edit] History
Service started on September 4, 2001 with 2 round trips every day. One trainset was used for both departures. In September 2003, service was increased to the current 4 round trips per day and a second trainset was used. Service was extended to Candiac in 2005
Service on the Delson-Candiac Line was suspended from February 17, 2006 to March 9, 2006 after the derailment of 6 Canadian Pacific freight cars on February 17. The freight cars derailed on a bridge used by the train service. This was one of the longest disruptions in train service for the AMT.
