Delorentos are a Dublin-based alternative rock band, formed in 2005. The members of the band are Rónan Yourell (vocals, guitar, piano), Kieran McGuinness (vocals, guitar), Níal Conlan (bass, backing Vocals) and Ross McCormick (drums, backing vocals).[1] The band's debut album In Love with Detail was critically acclaimed, being nominated as one of the five Irish Albums of the year by the Meteor Awards in 2007 at which they were also nominated for Best New Irish Band.
They have also released Two EPs; their debut release Leave It On in October 2005, and the critically acclaimed Do You Realise in November 2007. They have also released two singles; The Rules (May 2006), and Stop (July 2007).
Aside from headline shows the band have also played with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Supergrass, Idlewild, Bell X1 and The Coral in locations including London, New York, Chicago and Toronto. Delorentos also played a set at 2006's Other Voices: Songs From a Room.

[edit] Releases
The band's first release, the EP Leave It On, was recorded over the summer of 2005 with local producer, Marc Carolan. Carolan had previously worked with Muse, The Cure and JJ72. The EP was recorded in Pulse Studios and mixed in Carolan's own Suite Studio. With artwork designed by Kevin Lynch, it contained Delorentos' second release, single The Rules, was also recorded by Marc Carolan. Featuring trumpet by Colm Mac Athlaoich, who also did the sleeve artwork. The track was recorded at Sun Studios, and was mixed and mastered in Suite Studios, Dublin. Backed by the live favorite Neon, the single reached number 14 in the Irish singles charts.[citation needed]
In Love with Detail, the band's debut album, was recorded with Gareth Mannix in 4 week-long sessions between November 2006 and February 2007. The album was released in Ireland on April 21 2007, reaching #7 in the Irish Charts.
To support the release, the track Eustace Street was released for download on the same day. The next physical release was the single Stop in July 2007. It contained the tracks Stop (a remixed single version), She's So Modern and a remix of Stop by Irish V2 artist Jape called Stop - What a Comedown.
In November 2007 the EP Do You Realise was released, reaching number 34 in the charts.[citation needed] The EP contained the tracks Do You Realise, Neon (Extended), All This Time and Circumstance and Chance. New versions of Neon and All This Time were recorded for the EP during the In Love with Detail sessions, and Circumstance and Chance was recorded in 2006 with Marc Carolan at an early album demo session in Grouse Lodge in Westmeath.
[edit] Live Performances
The band played sets at Oxegen and Electric Picnic in 2006 and 2007. They completed an Irish tour with Bell X1 in November and December of 2006. Delorentos supported Sinead O'Connor at Heineken Green Energy in May 2007 and supported Dave Matthews Band in The Point Theatre, also in May of 2007. They also opened for the Arctic Monkeys at Malahide Castle on two separate dates in June of 2007, along with The Coral and Supergrass. In July 2007, they performed at Oxegen 2007 filling a 9000-capacity tent. They will perform at Oxegen 2008.

Delorentos have been nominated for 4 Meteor Awards, "Hope for 2006" in 2005, "Best New Band" in 2006 as well as "Best Irish Band" and "Best Irish Album" in 2007. In 2007 In Love With Detail was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. The album also won 2007's Roisin Dubh Album of the Year, given by the Roisin Dubh pub in Galway.
