Delone Catholic High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg.

The girls basketball team won the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championship in 2002-03, 2003-04 and 04-05, all in PIAA section AA.[1][2][3] The team took the 2004 title with a 46-33 win over Bishop Guilfoyle High School in the tournament final.[4] In 2004-05, Delone won the state championship with a 47-43 win vs. Westmont Hilltop High School at the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.[5]
The boys basketball team won the 1988-89 Class AA State Championship with a 68-61 win over Brentwood High School.[3][6]
Sprinter Maggie Borden was 2001 and 2002 state champion in the 400 meters, and was named Division B Track and Field Player of the Year.[7]
Wrestler Tony Koontz won the PIAA Class AA Wrestling State Championship in the unlimited weight class in both 1983 and 1984. Dana Gingrich won the 2003 State Championship in the 130 lb. weight class.[8]
The football team's annual game against cross-town rival Hanover High School is Pennsylvania's third-longest prep football series. The Squires now own a 42-28-5 lead in the 74-year-old rivalry with Delone taking 23 of the last 29 meetings.
[edit] Delone Catholic Music/Drama/Art
Delone Catholic's small size is made up for by its athletics, arts, and academics. The arts include the National Art Honor Society, Art Club, Marching Band, Concert Band, Chorus, Drama Department and Forensics Team.
This Show, Jekyll and Hyde, is made up of the songs from the Broadway musical. The band is made up of : 3 Clarinets, 2 Piccolos, 5 Trumpets, 3 Mellophones, 2 Trombones,3 Bass Drummers, 3, formerly 4, Pit Members, 1 snare,1 quad,1 tenor sax,and 1 tuba and 8 Color guard Members. In 2007 the band switched leagues from TOB to the Cavalcade of Bands, and took first place in their first competition at New Oxford with a score of 71.05. Their second competition winning first place at Greencastle -Antrim with a score of 78.05(also taking 3 awards). At their next Competition Warwick, Delone did it again winning 1st place yet again with a score of 79.60 and taking the high award for percussion (3rd overall).At their last competition before Championships they won first place yet again at Southwest with a score of 81.15. Calvacade Grand Championships arrived at Hershey, and Delone was in prime form. Taking fifth place out of twenty-three bands with a score of 89.95 Delone ended their season on an extremely high note. The 2007 Fall play Our Town, a drama by Thornton Wilder, directed by Mr. Ken Berry, was performed Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17. The 2008 Spring play Any Number Can Die, a Comedic, Murder-Mystery by Fred Carmichael, was performed Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Notable members of the Drama department are seniors Sarah Nietz, Zachary Smith, James Goodman Jr, and Gregory Lauchman. Juniors Kathleen Ritter, Courtney Yealy, and Hannah Smith. Finally sophmores Christopher Hallowell and Erick Von Sas. These talented youths are the pride of Delone Catholic's Drama department. News for next years Fall Play has been released. It will be the story of a mudering young lady written by William March. It is The Bad Seed.
On December 16th was the Christmas Concert, which included performances by the Junior Band(grades 5-8), the Flute Choir, Chorus and the Concert Band.
Delone Catholic's Forensics Team is known for its consistent ability to place at large area tournaments. Headed by Brother Rene Sterner, F.S.C., the Squire debaters of Mark Hayden and Ian Pugh are the two time champions in varsity policy debate at Myers' High School MLK Speech tournament in the years of 2007 and 2008. Delone Catholic hosts a forensics tournament every December that attracts teams from across Pennsylvania and Maryland.
