Dell Vostro

Dell Vostro is a line of computers aimed at small business users. Dell has re-branded its home and small business computer lines. The previous division was for home portables to be labeled Inspiron, and home desktop computers Dimension. Now, all home line computers, desktop or portable, are branded with the Inspiron label. The business version of that system receives the Vostro brand.

The current lineup includes four notebooks, from 12" to 17", both AMD- and Intel-based. All Vostro-laptops are available with either shared memory video card (Intel) or dedicated memory video card (either ATI/AMD-based or NVidia-based). Batteries are available from 29 W·h (Vostro 1000) to 85 W·h (Vostro 1000, 1200, 1400, 1500, and 1700).

All following models were released on July 10, 2007 worldwide with Vostro 1200 released on Dec 18, 2007. They were aimed at small business customers. All models have a Mylar sealed keyboard and shock sensing StrikeZone technology for hard drive.

The Vostro 1000 is Dell's 15.4" low-end business laptop, similar to the Inspiron 1501.

The Vostro 1200 is Dell's 12.1" business laptop, based on Intel's Santa Rosa Platform.
