DeliPlayer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
DeliPlayer is a multiformat freeware audio player for the Windows operating system similar to XMPlay and Winamp. DeliPlayer was created by Florian Vorberger and Peter Kunath. First version of the program was released in 2000.
DeliPlayer is inspired by Delitracker from the Amiga platform. Some authors of DeliPlayer were also authors of Delitracker. DeliPlayer supports most (close to 200) Amiga music formats, which is its key advantage over many other players on Windows platform. Some Amiga music formats are played by using hardware emulation (instruction and custom chip set emulation). DeliPlayer is a modern version of Delitracker and is designed from scratch and features a highly customizable GUI.
[edit] Trivia
- DeliPlayer uses Motorola 68000 instruction set emulation engine from Unix Amiga Emulator.
No updates and absence of the developers/maintainers on the DeliPlayer site since 2006 have caused frustrated users to switch to other programs.
