Delhi International Marathon

The Delhi International Marathon is an annual marathon foot-race held in New Delhi, India. It was established in 2006 and has become an annual event, with the second marathon to be run in February 2007. The 2006 marathon drew about 20,000 participants.
Apart from the marathon, there is a half marathon, a Fun Run and a 5km run. The event supports a number of charities including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India and CRY (Child Relief and You).
The 2006 winner of the marathon was Simon Maiyo (Kenya) in a time of 2:17:00, whilst the first female over the line was Enatesh Tadesse (Ethiopia) in a time of 2:44:29. The marathons first prize is $30,000 for men and $20,000 for women.
