Delaware Route 6 is a state highway in Kent County, Delaware. It runs from Maryland Route 291 at the Maryland border west of Blackiston to the Delaware Bay in Woodland Beach. The route passes through the towns of Smyrna and Clayton.

[edit] Route description

Delaware Route 6 heads east from the Maryland border on Millington Road, passing through the Blackiston Wildlife Area. In Blackiston, the route intersects the western terminus of Delaware Route 42, which heads southeast toward Kenton. It continues east and meets Delaware Route 15 about a mile west of Clayton. DE 6 then forms a concurrency with DE 15 to the western edge of Clayton, where DE 15 heads to the north.

The route proceeds east through Clayton on Main Street. It then crosses into Smyrna, where it becomes Smyrna Clayton Boulevard. Shortly after crossing into Smyrna, Delaware Route 6 intersects Delaware Route 300, where it bears to the left onto Glenwood Avenue, forming a concurrency with DE 300. The two routes head northeast to U.S. Route 13 in the northern part of Smyrna, where DE 300 ends and DE 6 makes a right turn to form a concurrency with US 13. It continues south on the four-lane, divided highway to the intersection of Commerce Street, where DE 6 heads to the east. It passes over the Delaware Route 1 toll road and leaves Smyrna.

Upon leaving Smyrna, Delaware Route 6 becomes Woodland Beach Road. It heads east through countryside and intersects Delaware Route 9. The route then heads east through the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area before ending at the Delaware Bay in the small community of Woodland Beach.
