DeLonghi Group, or DeLonghi S.p.A, is a major European small appliance manufacturer based in Treviso, Italy.
Founded as a small industrial parts-making workshop in 1902, the company incorporated in 1950. Historically a major producer of portable heaters and air-conditioners, the company has expanded to include nearly every category of small domestic appliances in the food preparation and cooking, as well as household cleaning and ironing, segments.
DeLonghi's 2001 acquisition of the struggling British appliance maker Kenwood Limited gave DeLonghi access to Kenwood's Chinese factory. As a result, many of DeLonghi's products are now made in China, while design and engineering remains in Italy.
In all, DeLonghi operates 13 production facilities and 30 international subsidiaries supporting sales to 75 countries worldwide. International sales account for nearly 75 percent of the group's total revenues, which topped EUR 1.25 billion ($1.5 billion) in 2003.
Traded in Milan's stock exchange (BIT: DLG), the company has over 5,870 employees worldwide.
