1] I have been diagnosed w/ this disease about 5 years ago. It really isn't a disease though. 2} DDD causes Osteophytes, i.e. bone spurs. These spurs poke themselves into muscles, nerves, & tissues. 3}

Degenerative disc disease is commonly spelled Degenerative disk disease. Because DISK is spelled DISC in this article both references should be used. Bdelisle 18:11, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
