[edit] change to Serpent from snake
An IP says in their edit summary: 'Degei (phoneticaly spelt Ndengei) was described as the Great Serpent in Fijian creation myths. (refer to Myths &Legends of Fiji and Rotuma by A.W. Reed and Inez Hames if you don't belive me') - well not sure I do believe you, since Serpent is an English word, and I doubt the Fijians used English in their creation myth, and A.W.Reed was a New Zealand European and an (amateur) historian who liked adding romantic phraseology like 'Great Serpent', and Inez Hames doesnt sound too Fijian... 'Serpent' means the same as 'snake' anyway. Kahuroa 19:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
