Degree programs at Brown University currently span 100 undergraduate concentrations (majors), over 50 graduate school programs, and offering around 2,000 courses each year. The most popular concentrations are Biology, History, and International Relations.[1] Brown's undergraduate concentration in Biomedical Ethics is the oldest program in the subject in the country, and Brown is one of the few schools in the U.S. with a major in Egyptology available. Undergraduates can also design an independent concentration if the existing standard programs do not befit their interests.
