[edit] History
Founded in 1974, Defence Force F.C. is the nation's most successful soccer club, having won a total of 18 national championships (one since the Trinidad league became professional in 1999, two in the Semi-Pro league between 1996 and 1998, and fifteen (in twenty-two seasons) from the establishment of the National League in 1974 to 1995). They are also the only team from Trinidad and Tobago to have ever won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup, winning in 1985. They finished 5th in the league in 2004 and 4th in 2005.
The Defence Force club is made up of members of the Trinidad and Tobago protective forces, hence the name. Usually included are soldiers and officers from the T&T Army and sailors and officers from the T&T Coast Guard.
