Defence Day

Defence Day is a national holiday in Pakistan to celebrate the successful defence of Pakistan against India in the War of 1965. It is celebrated on the 6th of September. It is customary for the president or prime minister to use the day to rally the country, in 2007 the president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf used the occasion to urge Pakistanis βto uphold the dignity, honour and sovereignty of Pakistan at all costs.β[1]
