"Where's this "Europe" thing? Please don't use strange, unexplained terms. Ah, there's a bright-blue link to it: thanks, I'll look it up immediately. Same for "North America"—please write for non-experts." - Tony1

[edit] Help requested on Unreal Tournament 2007

I know the article could use a cleanup, but it's flagged as containing OR. I see a small section that is probably OR, but other than that, I could use a second opinion on the article's content. It'd also be a good idea to get some opinions on directions the article could take.

Thanks,

[edit] Final Fantasy IV grammar stuff

I fixed most of it awhile back... Sir Crazyswordsman 02:17, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

If you think there's still problems, you can fix them. Zeality and I have both been over the article several times. Sir Crazyswordsman 02:23, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
As for the latest objections, you may want to take another look. I flipped through it twice, but you should take a look as well. Thanks. Sir Crazyswordsman 03:37, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] September Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  2. Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.
  3. The September 2006 Council elections will open for nominations on 18 September 2006. The voting will run from 25 September 2006 until 30 September 2006. If you wish to be a candidate or a member of the elections staff, please list yourself!
  4. The new Esperanza front page design has but put up - many thanks to all who worked on it!
  5. TangoTango has written a script for a bot that will list new members of Esperanza, which will help those who welcome new Esperanzains greatly!

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

[edit] Protect request

X201 has been battling repeat vandals at Lair (video game). I added the protected template; can you complete the process? Whoever's doing it is launching sock puppets at the article; it's really besieged. --Zeality 12:45, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Protect request

Odd your getting another request, eh? People continue to vandalize and revert Link (Legend of Zelda) as I attempt to overhaul it and save it from FARC. It is in the middle of improvement and I would strongly suggest semi-protecting it briefly while it can be improved without anonymous reversions. Thanks! Judgesurreal777 03:35, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

I am being reverted as we speak, and the 3 revert rule prevents me from stopping them. Unbelievable. Judgesurreal777 03:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Just a note: if someone is reverting your edits, which then causes a degradation of article quality, ignore all rules could be cited (especially if consensus has been reached and the reverting editor isn't bothering to join in the discussion to defend/explain their edits). Just make sure you've told them to use the talk in both your edit summaries and on their user page; this shows that you did make the attempt to avoid an edit war with them. After that, blind reverting of your edits can be considered vandalism, which isn't covered by the 3RR.
(take all this with a grain of salt; I'm a big fan of IAR when it comes to people who find it fun to break the rules with impunity). EVula 16:07, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyedit request

Hey there, I'm trying to get Girl Scouts of the USA up to GA status or at least good enough to nominate it for GA. I know you're good with copyediting and editing in general, can you give the article a look over sometime from an outside editors POV? I know you're busy, so if you can't that's ok too. Thanks <3 Darthgriz98 14:09, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reality check

Hey, can you come over to Talk:Deus Ex#GA review and give me a reality check on this? It seems to me that I'm making a convincing argument that's falling on deaf ears, but I've felt like that before and realized afterward that I was batshit insane. Could I ask you to either pitch in and back me up or call my bullshit? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 00:02, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyedit Episode IV

Hey Deck, I just "finished" Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope again. I was wondering you'd mind copyediting it for me before I submit for FA status. If you have any suggestions for the FAC just leave them in my talk page or the article's. :) The Filmaker 04:35, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Sorry, I'm having trouble remembering when I met who. And who met me when. The point is, I liked both of you guys and apparently the article had/has serious prose problems and I need all the help I can get. That's why I'm asking all of the people I didn't have when the first FAC was around. Sorry if I offended you. The Filmaker 02:54, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Dude, check the talk page. I don't want you to go through a bunch of trouble for it to be overwritten by this guy. :( The Filmaker 03:37, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Sorry, I feel like a dick by telling you to quit copyediting the article. I'm just worried that you'll be pissed that your work is being overwritten, or that this guy will be pissed that I told I didn't need his copyedit anymore. Let's see what he has to say, otherwise I would just let you copyedit the thing and than send it off for FAC. The Filmaker 03:39, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Good news, my old copyeditor is tied, so this is the way it's going to work. You can copyedit the article now, than I'll submit it for FAC. While it's up for FAC, my original copyeditor might come by and copyedit based on your version. Thanks a bunch, let me know when you're done. :) The Filmaker 00:02, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry, I can't remember if you ever did finish your copyedit. I remember you started and tweaked it here and there. But did you ever finish? If you didn't could you put it on your todo list? At this point I've just started on Empire and working on getting it up to GA. Thanks. ;) The Filmaker 00:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deck, I need help.

User:A Man In Black wants the FFIV plot section redone. I can't seem to do it in a way that will satisfy him. Can you help? Sir Crazyswordsman 00:05, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deck, I need (slightly more urgent) help.

I wrote huge chunks of that article myself so it's hard for me to copyedit it. -- Steel 13:02, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Ok, cool. I was wondering whether I would have to start killing kittens to get your attention ;) -- Steel 18:12, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Block request

Since you are an administrator, could you please block the user with the IP address 24.195.128.19? He had a vandalism "last-warning" thing on his talk page, but then vandalized Pokémon Red and Blue by deleting sections and replacing them with obscure ones. He also added Treecko to the list of version-specific pokemon when Treecko isn't even in the game. This is his contributions page. KdogDS 02:14, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hi

Thanks; a dam-burst of urgents—how will I cope? Tony 05:25, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
