DECHEMA

DECHEMA is the name of the german Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (Organization for Chemical- and Biotechnology).
The organization was founded in 1926 and is a non profit making organization based in Frankfurt. Over 5000 chemist, biotechnologist, and engineers are members. The DECHEMA awards a lot of scientific prizes, e.g. the DECHEMA medal.
The goal of the organization is to support the development in chemical technology, biotechnology and environmental protection. The organization is seen as an interface between science, economy, industry and public.
