Notability of Kau sze

A tag has been placed on Kau sze, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RJASE1 Talk 19:27, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grandmaster Chan Sau Chung

Wikified your article as best I could per your request on the talk page of Monkey Kung Fu. FYI- I noticed you linked your article on that talk page as a HTML link. It's a lot easier just to enclose a page that has a wikipedia entry in double brackets like [[]]. It's case sensetive, though, so you have to be accurate to link properly. Links that don't lead to an article will be red.MArcane 05:47, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About TSPK Lineage

In response to your discussion on my page, we are once again faced with the difference between Wikipedia and original research. While you may dispute the tree as posted, it is the only published tree available for me to reference. You might be able to get an oral history that conflicts, but it is not publishable on Wiki because it's original research. As for titles, I specifically left titles off because, I do not know the appropriate title structure for Kung Fu. If "Great Great Grandmaster" is really a true title, then so-be-it. However, I think your adding a title to only Chan Sau Chung's name is unfairly biased. I have deleted the chart per your recommendation. You're right, it is a can of worms.MArcane

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Wuchengen.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wuchengen.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Monkey Kung Fu

It's best to refer to people by their real names rather than aliases where possible, noting he's call the Monkey King is fine (probably best to source though) but in an info box especially it's best to use the real name. --Nate1481( t/c) 08:33, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your note

Hi Debon. In response to your note on my talk page, I think it's unfortunate that User:Mista-X is unwilling to discuss the tag with you. As to the article itself, probably the best way to improve it (and to get the tag removed) is to look for coverage of Chan Sau Chung in independent, reliable secondary sources (newspaper coverage, etc). The more an article is based on such independent sources (and the less it relies on what the subject has to say about himself), the more encyclopedic it is and the less likely it is to be tagged.

I see there are already some such sources listed at the bottom of the article - it might be worthwhile to go through and remove some of the more "promotional" material and replace it with information gleaned from those indpendent sources. Because Wikipedia is so prominent and used so often for promotional purposes, people tend to react fairly strongly against anything that smells like advertising or promotion.

Unfortunately, it's necessary (or at least highly advisable) to have a thick skin and wear a metaphorical helmet when editing Wikipedia. Things get pretty heated sometimes, in spite of policies mandating civility. The best approach is to ignore provocation as much as possible and respond politely but firmly. If there is an ongoing problem (and I think User:Mista-X's behavior is an ongoing problem), then you can ask an administrator for help - leave me a note or you can leave a brief request for help at the admin's noticeboard. Also useful are the guidelines on resolving disputes.

Hope that's helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. MastCell Talk 15:46, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
