DEBKAfile (Hebrew: תיקדבקה‎) is an Israeli, Jerusalem-based English language open source military intelligence website with commentary and analyses on terrorism, intelligence, security, and military and political affairs in the Middle East.

It began in the summer of 2000, and has since received Forbes' Best of The Web award.[1] Forbes identifies the best part of the website as being its archives, but decries the fact that "most of the information is attributed to unidentified sources."

DebkaFile reporting relies heavily on apparently well-placed sources within the Israeli military and intelligence communities. As such, it tends to have a strong pro-Israeli bias and limited, but often accurate and real-time, purely military "window" on the issues and events it covers.

Because of the close cooperation between the Israeli and United States military, DebkaFile sometimes offers behind-the-scenes insight into real-time U.S. foreign policy as expressed, for example, in actual ship or troop movements versus the "spun" or even intentionally misleading public statements of government and military officials.[citation needed]

Some reports can be wildly inaccurate, such as claims of the exact point during the 2003 invasion of Iraq when Saddam Hussein would use nuclear and biological weapons, which never happened. This most likely stems from the unidentified sources' possible political or military bias.
