[edit] Welcome

Hi Deanos, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thankyou for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~. Some people do not pay attention to unsigned comments. An important note: Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

But above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

[edit] Tassie people

Hey there Deanos, good to see another Tassie resident here :) Check out my user page for a range of Tassie-related articles that I've created, and (as always) could do with any additions you can offer! -- Chuq 10:42, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hello Deanos!

Wow, Margate too? Wild. :P Hope to see you around sometime. I'm not knowledgeable enough to create my own articles, really. I don't have much of a way with words.

Anyway, talk to you soon. :) Caleb Osment. 06:11, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] gallery -- just what I needed

Thanks for the tip. I copied User:Deanos/tmp to a directory of my own. -- Geo Swan 07:43, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] re: copyvios

Hi, thanks for the info...I totally overlooked that there's a new speedy criterion :P I'll just speedy blatant copyvios in the future then -- Ferkelparade π 13:42, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Gratitude

Ah, thanks for catching-and-reverting the mess on my user-page; as I said, I'm now the target of frustrated twelve-year-olds whose vanity pages I deleted.

(Feels nice to get messages on your talk page, eh?) DS 11:58, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the User Page Vandalism Revert

G'day Dean. Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my user page. Don't know why this individual has a hate on for one page I've edited and me, but he does. :) Weird. Oh well. Anyway, was in the middle of doing some edits on my user page, so was going to leave it until I was done. I almost felt important there for a minute. :) --Craig 14:24, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Mount Arapiles

Maelgwn 00:26, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Yeah i kinda left in a hurry, while i was in the middle of re-writing. I was going to take photos and get some more info while i was there so i didnt worry about not putting the page up. But now i'm back, with some more stuff to put in, so ill get back to work asap! you want to learn how to climb? awesome! i'm a terrible climber and an even worse teacher! (even though i'll be teaching regularly in 2006). and seeing as you are in adelaide and i am in hobart... hehe. are you at school or university? if so then i recommend you snoop around for a climbing club and get involved. climbing is awesome. and it's safer than driving a car. :) deanos}{ Ł }{ 13:01, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Ive done a bit of climbing around the place, mainly at the gym tho. But when i head to uni (prob next year) i will hopefully join the club there. It will happen but slowly atm. Thanks for the article, the first time i misread how long you were going to be away for so posted the notes saying is the going to happen ... but then learnt later.

[edit] Beer categories

Hi Deanos. It has been suggested by User:BrianSmithson that the Beer and brewery categories should be renamed. The proposal has been supported by User:Syrthiss, and supported and expanded by myself. The notion is that the regional categories should follow the format of "Beer and breweries in Africa" /Europe/Asia/North America/South America/Oceania. "Brewers and breweries" could also be renamed "Beer and breweries by region". And all the countries should also be renamed (and merged if needed) as, for example, "Beer and breweries of Germany", "Beer and breweries of Britain", "Beer and breweries of Poland". The word in each case would be beer rather than beers to allow for general articles on beer culture in each region as well as individual beers.

[edit] Image:PainOfSalvation-Band2000.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:PainOfSalvation-Band2000.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 17:13, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:PainOfSalvation-ThePerfectElementPart1.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:PainOfSalvation-ThePerfectElementPart1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:05, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:WinAce v26 screenshot.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:WinAce v26 screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:15, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
