After searching for a bit, I can find no news on this speculation about him moving to Newcastle...There is nothing on the BBC website and nothing on the Newcastle OR West Ham website... --Skully Collins 08:34, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the part stating that one day he may fill shearers boots at Newcastle. Pure speculation.

Just did, and not everything adds up. On the 04-05 season for Crewe, 17 lge goals + 2 lge cup goals = 20. That's not right. soccerbase has quite different stats for most figures shown.  SLUMGUM  yap  stalk  16:12, 5 July 2006

I've gone through the table in detail and used soccerbase as well...and apparently, I've added one more game and have subtracted 1 goal...All I know is that it's a goal scored for Crewe as Norwich and West Ham all check out. Which basically means that the career stats table is short by one league goal and has one more league game then it should...unless soccerbase has got it's totals wrong? --Skully Collins 07:58, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Top of the page claims Swindon but article contnues to say he was born in Shrewsbury. (At least) one of these must be wrong. Cloudz679 10:12, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Swindon. Shrewsbury was added in an edit on 15th August, while Swindon's been there practically since the article was created nearly 2 years ago. {{disputed}} tag removed. -- Arwel (talk) 22:17, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I think we should go for the Official Club Websites birthplace: Crewe Alex - Swindon, West Ham - Crewe, Soccerbase - Swindon. I'll go and check on Football Manager 2006 soon...unless that isn't a Reliable Source in anyone's opinion...--Skully Collins ^Edits 11:21, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Good idea - I think there may have been some confusion between his place of birth and the place where he first played for a professional football club - I knew football could become all-encompassing for some, but surely not that all-encompassing! 8-)  DDStretch  (talk) 11:55, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
