Dean Young (born 28 October 1983 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby league player for the St George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League competition. He primarily plays in the forwards.
In 2006, Young was selected as 18th man for New South Wales in the 2006 State of Origin decider in Melbourne, but did not play.
[edit] 2007 season
Young did not play for the majority of the 2007 season, as he was recovering from a knee injury incurred in 2006 from a Lance Thompson tackle. His recovery was further hindered by complications from surgery which was performed to address this injury. Young did, however, make three appearances for the Dragons in 2007, including at five-eighth for a memorable victory over the Penrith Panthers.
