Dean Sykes was a character, albeit not a regular one, in Coronation Street, a British television soap opera. He was apparently Linda Baldwin's half-brother, and appeared only in two episodes (11 - 12 October 2000).
The main events were when Dean and his companion, Lenny Larkin, held up a till at Frescho's, armed with a handgun. When the shop closed, however, Dean hoped he could raid the safe in the supermarket, and escaped with not just the few expected pounds, but thousands of them.
As the siege grew, the police surrounded Frescho's. The climax was when the authorities burst in and police markswoman, Emma Taylor, fired a shot at Dean, who died on the way to hospital.
