Dean Schofield (born 19 January 1979 in Audenshaw, England) is a professional Rugby union player who plays for Sale Sharks. He plays Second Row/Lock and is a product of Aldwinians RUFC. He first came to prominence when scoring twice as Aldwinians beat Dudley Kingswinsford in the NPI Cup Final at Twickenham. He also played for Wakefield during their time in National League 1.

Nicknamed "Audenshaw's Finest", Schofield is a destructive player as his stature may hint. He is 6ft 5in (1.96m) tall and weighs 18 stones (114kg). He is a fans' favourite for his no nonsense approach to the game, never taking a backwards step and his all-round commitment on the pitch.

The England manager, Brian Ashton, announced that Schofield is in included in the England tour of South Africa.
