Dean Scott Keates (born June 30, 1978 in Walsall, England) is a midfielder currently playing for Peterborough United.

Beginning his career with his hometown club, Keates was a key member of the Saddlers' midfield in their rise to Division One in 1999. He moved to Hull City in 2002, and on to Kidderminster and Lincoln City before returning to Walsall in 2006.

Keates once again played a key role in a Walsall side flying high in League Two during 2006-07.[citation needed] Keates was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year for the 2006-07 season.[1]

Keates was signed by Peterborough United on a three-year deal on 14 May 2007.[2]
