From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dean Howard (born 7 May 1961, Greenwich, London) is a guitarist who was part of Ian Gillan's backing band on the Deep Purple frontman's U.S. solo tour in August and September 2006. Dean is currently working with Toby Jepson (ex Little Angels) on his solo project and they are recording and touring at present.

[edit] Career

Howard first came into the public eye in the 1980s when he joined the pop / rock band T'Pau. They were fronted by the singer Carol Decker, and Howard joined just after their debut album Bridge of Spies was recorded. Howard became a pin-up to the female fans of the band.[citation needed]

T'Pau were one of only a handful of bands to have a major hit in the U.S. before having a Top 10 hit in their own country (England) with the song, "Heart and Soul".

Howard added a more heavy rock style of guitar work. His style helped give T'Pau a number one song, "China in Your Hand".

Dean's favorite guitarist is Eddie Van Halen

His 2004 album Volume One was written and recorded in two weeks at Rogue Studios, co written by David Domminney (guitar/vocals), Andres Luengo (drums) and Russell Kennedy (bass) also featured guest vocals from Ian Gillan, Danny Bowes and Toby Jepson.

He is still working, and can be found at this website [1]
