Dean Furman (born June 22, 1988), is a South African professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Rangers. Dean originally resided in Edgware, North-west London with brother Jake, also a semi-professional footballer.
He then became Rangers manager, Paul Le Guen's first signing on 15 May 2006 when he joined on a two year deal from English side Chelsea.
Furman was captain of the Rangers Under-19 team which won the Scottish Youth Cup final in 2007, beating rivals Celtic 5-0.
He signed a new contract on 24 October 2007 which will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2009. [1]
He made his debut for Rangers on the 10th of May, 2008, as a second half substitute for Kevin Thomson.[2]
On 10th June, it was suggested in the Scottish press that Furman would soon be leaving Rangers to move to Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. There was to be no fee involved. This was still to be confirmed.
