The hamlet of Dean sits on the edge of the Mendip Hills within the civil parish of Cranmore in the Mendip district of Somerset, England.

It is on the A361, approximately 3 miles (5 km) from Shepton Mallet and 6 miles (10 km) from Frome.

Dean farmhouse dates from the 17th century,[1] as does the old smithy which has now been converted into two residential dwellings.[2]
