From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Deafchild India is a project of Nambikkai Foundation providing information technology access and training to many deaf children in schools in Tamil Nadu. The project was started in 2000 and couldn't have taken place without the support and collaboration of the UK based charity, Deafax, who have a specialism in deafness and technology and were responsible for raising the funds from the Community Fund, now the known as Britain's Big Lottery.

Some of the services offered by Deafchild India include developing textbooks and learning materials which are deaf-friendly, running workshops for teachers of the deaf, providing exposure to information technology to deaf children through workshops.
