Deadly sock is a multi-purpose game variant in which certain game mechanics (chiefly the "tag" mechanism") are replaced with a "deadly sock" mechanic.[1][2]
The deadly sock serves to extend the range and striking power of each player while retaining the same "level playing field" dynamic of traditional tag mechanisms.
[edit] Game Play
The deadly sock is a tagging device comprised of a single tube sock filled with a small amount of flour. The flour is placed in the toe of the sock; the sock is then gripped by the leg hole and wielded as a flail. Striking a player with any part of the deadly sock has the same effect as tagging them.[3]
[edit] Common Variants
Capture the flag - Players on each team use deadly socks to defend their own team's flag and to eliminate, freeze, or imprison their opponents.
Freeze Tag - Players freeze opponents and unfreeze teammates while smacking one another with socks.
