Dead Serious was the debut album of the hip hop duo Das EFX. The first single, "They Want EFX," was a Top 40 pop hit and a Top Ten R&B hit that propelled Dead Serious to platinum status. The song was referenced in the popular teen-soap opera show, Beverly Hills 90210 and is frequently referenced by comedian Dave Chappelle.

In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine's 100 Best Rap Albums.
