Dead Oceans

Dead Oceans is an indie rock record label based in Austin, Texas. It was founded in February 2007 as a sister label to Jagjaguwar and Secretly Canadian. Dead Oceans is co-owned by the partners behind Jag and SC (Ben Swanson, Chris Swanson, Darius Van Arman, Jonathan Cargill) along with Phil Waldorf, former label manager of Misra Records. Rather than focus on any single genre, Dead Oceans says that it will feature "bold and timeless recordings" from a "diverse staple of sound creators"[1].
