[edit] Formation and career beginnings

Lucy Catherwood and Marie France met Victoria Hesketh in August 2005 while attending the same art school in Leeds and the trio instantly bonded over a mutual love for The Bangles, Blondie, Kate Bush, Billy Idol, Gang of Four, The Slits and The Rapture. Following a handful of live dates the band went into the studio with producer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and contributed a track to Leeds label Dance to the Radio's compilation. Soon after they released their debut single 'The Treatment' on Manchester label High Voltage, which sold out in days and enjoyed fantastic reviews and national radio plays. The drummer, Anna Pryor, now plays drums for Lightspeed Champion on tour

[edit] City Place and Leeds Festival

Building on this success the band embarked on a nation-wide tour, selling out home town shows. During this period they released 'City Place' as a download on Playlouder.com. In the summer they were asked to perform live on Radio 1 by Steve Lamacq, and soon after played Leeds Festival. <a href="http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k94/mariemaravilla85/?action=view&current=836060738_l.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k94/mariemaravilla85/836060738_l.jpg" border="0" alt="dead disco"></a>

[edit] Automatic

In September they released 'Automatic' as the last ever single on legendary indie label Fierce Panda, accompanied by their first video directed by Saam Farahmand, which has now also sold out.[1]

[edit] You're Out

The Metronomy remix of 'The Treatment,' which originally featured on the debut b-side has recently appeared on the third Kitsune Maison compilation. After an extremely busy year the girls have been spending time writing and recording new tracks. In April 2007, producer Richard X (famed for writing hits for the likes of Rachel Stevens, Sugababes and Kelis) confirmed that he has worked with Dead Disco. They will be working on their debut album in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin. The band release their new single 'You're Out' in June 2007 and are now signed to 679 Recordings/ Warner Music.
