Dead Angel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dead Angel is an online music zine dedicated to reviewing the avante-weird, noise music, obscure and mainstream music on equal footing.

The writers are fictitious characters themselves, with names like the "Headless Sno-Cone girl", "the moon unit" and "TASCAM-girl", the reviews often feature long conversations between these characters, describing their psychedelic lifestyle -- a mix of pagan godhood and squalid hipster shenanigans.

Certain parallels could be certainly be found between Dead Angel and other Texas scary/funny psychedelic products, among them Daniel Johnston, the Butthole Surfers and Crust. In the same manner, one could probably understand the basic difference between Dead Angel and its contemporaries Arthur, and Blastitude on music by stereotyping them as: Dead Angel = an Austin persepective, Arthur Magazine, = a New York perspective and Blastitude = a Chicago/Omaha perspective.
