[edit] Improvements

Have to add a section "Immediately before" and describe the events that lead up to the collapse

Have to add a "Learnings" section just before the see also section.

This section will contain:

  • information about infrastructure investment
  • life cycle policies

Also have to add a section on "Similar Events" and include

  • incident in 2000 when a man died
  • other overpass that was pulled down as it is the same design as the concorde overpass and is therefore suspect

A section on "Suspected Cause/s"

[edit] Sources

Fire e23 02:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC) I apologise that this article is written using News articles as reference sources, but no other sources are available at the moment; the official technical report isn't due out until March and even then probably won't contain any data on behavioural responses.

Fire e23 23:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC) Need to fix up referencing to realign with references from same authors.

The collapse was not in montreal, that needs to be clarified

[edit] August 2007

From the article:

In August 2007, incidentally just weeks before the I-35W Mississippi River bridge collapse, the Quebec department of transports issued a list of 135 overpasses that were under close scrutiny, and closed to all overweight trucks (in excess of 20 tonnes) traffic.

How could a list be issued in August 2007, "weeks before" the bridge collapse, when the bridge collapsed on August 1? Should that read "In July 2007"? --  timc  talk   01:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Assessment

I have assessed this as Start Class, as it contains more detail and organization than would be expected of a Stub, although it needs in-line citations to facilitate verification. I have assessed this as low importance, as it is a highly specific event within Canada. Cheers, CP 16:10, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
