De Trafford Baronets
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The de Trafford Baronetcy, of Trafford Park in the County of Lancaster, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 7 September 1841 for Thomas de Trafford. The de Trafford family is one of the most ancient families in England, tracing its roots back to Radulphus, who died in about 1050. As Anglo-Saxons, the family initially resisted the Norman army, but were granted a pardon shortly after the conquest, when they took the Norman name of de Trafford. The surname was later Anglicized to Trafford but the first Baronet assumed by Royal license the original surname of de Trafford. See also Trafford Park.
