[edit] Athletics

De Pere High School's mascot is the Redbird. As of January of 2006, a conference realignment plan was approved, putting De Pere, Ashwaubenon, Bay Port and Pulaski High Schools into the current Fox River Valley Conference. Green Bay East, Green Bay West, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay Preble High School, Green Bay Notre Dame, Sheboygan South, Sheboygan North, and Manitowoc Lincoln High Schools are currently in that conference. In 2005, the Girls Basketball team beat rival Ashwaubenon, 43-37, in a Sectional Final game to advance to the State Tournament. They beat Chippewa Falls, DeForest and Waukesha South to win the Division 1 State Tournament. It was the Girls Basketball program's first trip to the State Tournament since winning it in 1983. De Pere High School has also won state championships in Boys Basketball (1934), Boys Soccer (1993), Football (1994), and Gymnastics (1986-1990).

[edit] Mascot Controversy

In 2005, De Pere High School received a cease-and-desist order on the grounds that its mascot, the Redbird, was copyrighted. The school eventually redesigned the logo so as to not fall under the copyright.[citation needed]
