De Noorderlingen (also known as The Northerners) is a 1992 Dutch film by Alex van Warmerdam.

The movie takes places in the 1960s, in a somewhat surreal Dutch suburb consisting of only a single street. It tells the story of the people living in this street, and can be seen as a reflection on Dutch life during the 20th century in general. Van Warmerdam himself has said that he considers this his best movie. He won a Dutch movie award (Gouden Kalf) for best director, and the movie was nominated for the International Fantasy Film Award. Actor Rudolf Lucieer won a Gouden Kalf for his role as Anton, the forester. The movie is part of the official Canon of Dutch films.[1]
