[edit] List of terrorist incidents
Oh sorry I didn't notice your comment on the page. Next time you should place new comments at the bottom of a page instead of at the top as that is the standard for new comments and where everyone check for comments.
- Sorry, I wasn't aware of that convention. I wanted to be sure people saw it, and I assumed that everyone would first see the *top* of the page when the page loads. Don't they? I certainly do. -- DBooth 06:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Regarding renaming the article itself, a couple of things. One, by coping and pasting the text onto a new page, all previous contributions on this page will be lost, which is certainly not the way to go. And given the fact that I am not the only one to have reverted you change, I think we should have a discussion on this with the participation of other users before making a major change such as this.
Cheers. --snowolfD4( talk / @ ) 16:11, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, no previous contributions were lost by the original renaming. I went to quite a lot of effort to diligently retain all content. However, I know some changes were lost the second time, when I did not have time to figure them all out and reapply them.
- The reason I did the rename manually was to retain the page with the broader title as a regular content page (not just a redirect page) in order to make it point to the *two* more specific pages. Is there a better way to do that? Would the "rename" feature permit that to be done? If so it would have been a LOT easier and better.
- Regarding discussion, I solicited input on the title problem over two months ago! No other solutions were proposed, and no objections were raised. That's why it is so frustrating to see that you have reverted these changes without first discussing it on the talk page. -- DBooth 06:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
