Days Like This (Radio Ulster)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Days Like This, is a radio programme broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster, Mondays-Fridays, 11.55am-12pm.

BBC Radio Ulster’s engaging Days Like This series follows on from the success of My Story and This Place, offering listeners the opportunity to share a moment in their lives which has had an impact on them.

Days Like This producer Pauline Currie said: “We know the programme has really struck a chord as every day more and more phone calls, letters and e-mails come in from people eager to share a day which has really mattered to them. What’s truly astonishing though, is the breath-taking variety of stories we’ve been hearing – whether they be joyful, comical and life-affirming or spiritual, reflective, even profoundly sad – no two are ever the same. So while one day we might be transported to the heat and dust of a South African township by way of a moving account of simple human kindness; the next we’re on the terraces at a big football game sharing a son’s poignant memories of his late father or on a County Down beach wondering why someone has chosen to cast a red rose into a turbulent sea – you never really know what you’re going to hear. Yet one predominant theme runs through every programme in the Days Like This series – this is the stuff that unites us all and shapes all of our lives.”
