DayShawn Wright (born September 5, 1985) is a former forward for Syracuse University who currently plays for the CBA's Albany Patroons.

[edit] Professional Career
On September 2006, Wright was the No. 1 overall pick in the Continental Basketball Association draft. However, the Buffalo Silverbacks of the American Basketball Association had already signed Wright to an ABA contract in July 2006. Wright went on to sign another contract with the CBA's Minot SkyRockets in October 2006.
On December 2006, the SkyRockets released Wright after he was arrested for drug possession and driving with a suspended license.[1]
On July 17, 2007, Wright signed with the ABA's Syracuse Raging Bullz.[2] He was later released after the team folded. On December 5, 2007, Wright signed with the Albany Patroons of the CBA.[3]

Wright appeared in 10 games in his freshman year at Syracuse, averaging 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds. He scored a career-high five points against Cornell and logged a career-high 13 minutes against Siena.
Wright was declared academically ineligible his sophomore season and he withdrew from Syracuse. He transferred to NAIA Mountain State University in West Virginia where he also failed to play basketball because of academic ineligibility. He would never play in college again.[4]

Wright participated in the 2003 USA Men’s Basketball Youth Development Festival. In five games he averaged 17.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals per game while shooting .618 from the field.[5]

- Competed at Fowler High School in Syracuse. In his junior season, he averaged approximately 22.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 5.0 assists per game
- Made the all-tournament team at the 2003 Five-Star Hoop Classic in Boston.
- Transferred to Oak Hill Academy his senior year of high school, helping the team go 38-0, winning the 2004 national championship.
- Ranked 11th among powerforwards by Hoopmasters.com and 90th in the 2004 class by Prep Stars.[6]
